The solver solver can currently trigger upgrades in unrelated packages when you're performing a package install. That issue combined with bug 13233 is likely the cause of your problems here. So yes, removing any problematic contrib packages (first, such as opensc) could resolve the issue for you. There is a fix in progress to prevent packages like the ones from contrib wreaking havoc when they express their dependencies in an unexpected (or not quite right) manner. -- Shawn Walker
