I am trying to do probability symbols like "intersection" for sets and tall brackets for combinatorics equations.

Most math symbols don't seem to show up. I tried various examples taken from the sandbox page at golem.ph.utexas.edu and the docs at maruku.rubyforge.org.

I did a search on the list archives, thinking that I was missing something obvious.

I found a message that suggested making sure that I had the most recent Itex2mml.

I downloaded it and installed it and it seems to work. I'm on Linux. Do I need some shared object library?

Did you install the itex2MML Ruby bindings?

Do I need a command-line flag like -m? Do I need code in the page?

Notably, the \[ and \] math codes do seem to work, so apparently some fraction of the math markup is working. However I can't get important symbols like \cup and \cap.

Perhaps you need to install the STIX fonts.
