I currently use Firefox 2; getting Firefox 3 may be necessary, and it is leading to major roadblocks. The EEEPC is *not* a good machine if you want to get all the dependencies for Firefox 3. Other users have reported nightmare scenarios, and I've just spent two hours compiling dependencies.Asus apparently does not support Firefox 3, so if that is a hard requirement, I may just have to use Instiki without the math notation features.
MathML rendering is pretty much borked in Firefox 2. Firefox 3.0 is passable. Firefox 3.5 is very good. 30 seconds of Googling yielded http://www.eeefiles.com/index.php?act=view&id=1470 which purports to provide a precompiled Firefox 3.5.3 binary and http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:installfirefox3 http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=22973 which offer instructions for compiling Firefox on the EeePC.I don't guarantee that any of these work but Indications seem to be that lots of people are successful at getting firefox 3.5.x on the EeePC.
