May be, but let's be careful about the terminology. You and peolple on this list definitely know what an IPv6 address is but I can tell you that many people really don't, so whatever we do we must clarify the boundaries of the "IPv6 address" term. I don't know where this confusion started in people's mind, but it's here. The people who wants to use the IPv6 address as an identifier (they still call it an IP address even when to identify a person) are generally unaware of the locator/id split discussion, so I think it might be helpful to educate people about longer-term plans of the IETF.
