You in two respects:
- the only application that would need to change is TRACEROUTE
- the change would touch only a few lines of code
However, it is impossible to know how long it would take to deploy this
change. Even if all of the major vendors were to release these changes
tomorrow, my guess would be that it would take several years to deploy,
globally.
