I believe the DSLF document "Subscriber Sessions" (DSLF WT-146) lists
the DSLF requirements for subscriber session management. Do we
(IETF) have access to this document?

My guess would be that most likely change would be at the
DSL box that you get from the provider. If it does 802.1X,
PANA, or DHCP Auth from that point to the network does
not matter from the home user's perspective.
Today, you can:
1. hook up a PC directly to a DSL modem
2. use some kind of gateway to connect multiple PCs
3. use a modem with gateway functionality
I would be very interested in learning which of these models the
DSL forum wants to support. I'm somewhat worried about a situation
where 3. is the only option, because that way, end-users would have
to live with whatever functionality the (ISP-provided) gateway
delivers, which will invariably include NAT, and although NAT is
always a bad thing in theory, a "good" NAT isn't too troublesome in
practice while a bad one is a disaster.
