hey, i have a dell xps 13 with an integrated intel adapter running on kubuntu 14.10, and a club3d csv5300 displayport hub with two attached dell displays.
i am currently using the 3.18 kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.18-vivid/ the problem is that the displays attached to the DP hub only work in clone mode. and whenever i disconnect, or reconnect a display to the hub XOrg is crashing with a segfault. connecting and disconnecting the hub itself works fine. here are the last lines of the xorg log: [ 310.480] (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 3840x1200 [ 310.485] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 310.516] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on DP1 using pipe 1, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 310.524] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on DP1 using pipe 1, position (1920, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 323.675] (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 1920x1080 [ 323.679] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.282] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on DP1 using pipe 1, position (1920, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.808] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.808] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on DP1 using pipe 1, position (1920, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.816] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.816] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on DP1 using pipe 1, position (1920, 0), rotation normal, reflection none [ 324.832] (EE) [ 324.832] (EE) Backtrace: [ 324.832] (EE) 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x56) [0x7ff161614666] [ 324.832] (EE) 1: /usr/bin/X (0x7ff16145e000+0x1ba869) [0x7ff161618869] [ 324.832] (EE) 2: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0x7ff15f192000+0x36da0) [0x7ff15f1c8da0] [ 324.832] (EE) 3: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x7ff15b580000+0x69d85) [0x7ff15b5e9d85] [ 324.832] (EE) 4: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x7ff15b580000+0x10be22) [0x7ff15b68be22] [ 324.832] (EE) 5: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x7ff15b580000+0x6cb23) [0x7ff15b5ecb23] [ 324.832] (EE) 6: /usr/bin/X (WakeupHandler+0xaa) [0x7ff1614b9e2a] [ 324.832] (EE) 7: /usr/bin/X (WaitForSomething+0x1c7) [0x7ff161611a97] [ 324.832] (EE) 8: /usr/bin/X (0x7ff16145e000+0x56ec1) [0x7ff1614b4ec1] [ 324.832] (EE) 9: /usr/bin/X (0x7ff16145e000+0x5b2a6) [0x7ff1614b92a6] [ 324.832] (EE) 10: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xf5) [0x7ff15f1b3ec5] [ 324.832] (EE) 11: /usr/bin/X (0x7ff16145e000+0x456ae) [0x7ff1614a36ae] [ 324.832] (EE) [ 324.832] (EE) Segmentation fault at address 0x1e0 [ 324.832] (EE) Fatal server error: [ 324.832] (EE) Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault).
