recently I started seeing occasional short screen flicker to black

This happens less than once per day on average and only on the monitor with
the active pointer in a dual monitor setup. Because it is so rare, I have
not done a git-bisect.
I'm running stock Fedora 24, with latest Fedora kernel update, however due
to problems with the glamor driver shipped with Fedora I use the
xf86-video-intel driver

I know that this is not the latest general kernel, but I wonder if this is
a known problem and what can be done about it.
