Well that was a longshot. Let's try smth else.
Download the last of intels drivers for 915 (http:// downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/12539/a08/ win2k_xp142550.exe&DwnldId=12539&ProductID=1862&lang=eng) Its version 6.14.10.4764 Now download the latest driver for 965 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/16815/a08/winxp_14361.exe&DwnldId=16815&ProductID=2800&lang=eng, extract it - change the device ids in inf file - for exmple the entries for 965 GM to match yours. NOW To bypass the error you have on running setup.exe (I also had it many times) you can do two things. With both drivers extracted and inf file moded in the NEW driver copy the whole Graphics folder to the old drivers directory, overwriting the old files OR copy the setup.exe from OLD drivers directory to the NEW one overwriting setup.exe ALWAYS remove the old drivers and get back to plain VGA windows driver before installing new drivers. Installing new drivers on top of the older one has coused some BSODs on my system Installing the driver by "have disk" method was a smart move but... in my case (VISTA 32) it didn't work as good as a normal setup. Glad you are asking to be preceise - we are not MODDING the driver (no ddl hacks, secret handshakes and so on) we are just following the RABBIT, as Alice did :) No latest tech - just a discovery that you can install new drivers on old hardware just by adding its device id in the inf file. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I'm speaking for myself here, MAD_BEAST on the other side said that he is working on a "965 - X3100 supermod" - but you will have to ask him about that.
