-autoconfig - it tells the game to choose the best settings for your machine (according to some internal instructions f.e. GMA950=low GF9600=medium and so on)
Aphelios - it doesn't matter If you have a steam or non steam version (but owning original games doesn't hurt either). Putting the parameters in the target area is still OK. I didn't ask - when does the portal crash? On startup? Before entering the menu? Can you start it at all and get into a level? Does it crash when looking through a portal? Does it give you any info on crash?
