By default, it is 224 maximum. But, mostly, it hovers around 8 (until used).
In 7, it allows that whole 256 mb ram.

Most BIOS don't let you adjust this number (especially Dell, HP).

It doesn't really matter, really, as that 32 mb ram fails to make much of a
difference.
