i agreed with espi, edgers ppa does provide a decent driver, but i also like to kept the x-swat ppa so that when the edgers driver goes wrong, i can still install a stable version in failsafe mode...
also considering updating ur kernel, i found out that kernel 2.6.32.2 stable which released recently gives the best performance for Intel systems..guide refer required for those who never update or changing linux kernel, mostly it's easy though....
