whats your hardware? and idk if u mentioned it b4 but did u ever have
mac on that laptop b4?

And also heres a outline of what I did to get Snow Leopard on my laptop.

I installed iDeneb 10.5.6 on my HDD and had 3 partitions under the
GUID partition scheme. The 1st partiton was called SnowLeopard, 2nd
TempLeopard, 3rd SnowImage. 1st partition = whatever was left in free
space, 2nd partition = 20GB, 3rd partition = 8gb.

I "obtained" a snow leopard retail 6GB image and restored it to the
SnowImage partition

I then followed some guide to install Chameleon RC4 to my flash drive.
After that, I had to make a custom boot.plist with the 950gma
device-properties string. (My laptop can use vanilla 950gma kexts, but
only with the EFI string). With that being done, I had no kexts in the
Extras folder (most people need to disable IntelCPU Power management
or whatever its called.).

When installing SL however, most people will experience their CMOS
being reset to default settings (slightly scary to see that at first).
Whatever snow leopard does, it ends up corrupting something, and
wiping CMOS settings. This can be fixed with a patched DSDT.aml along
with many other things.

I can't really go too much into detail about the DSDT, but this file
has to do with ACPI tables or whatever. The ACPI tables that come with
most BIOS's is incomplete, and only works best on Windows. Mac,
doesn't like that too much. The DSDT.aml file is basically a more
optimized version of your ACPI tables. Unix and Linux Operating
systems can preload this file instead of using the one on your BIOS.

Patching the DSDT.aml file once you obtain it though isn't hard with
the right guide. Basically, you can fix most issues by messing with
this file (ethernet not being detected, audio not working from mic,
USB loosing power, etc).

And if you even wanted to take it a step further, you can optimize a
DSDT and then include it in a system bios file and flash your BIOS. I
did this before after optimizing my ACPI tables with a tool from Intel
(Intel ASL optimizer maybe idk). It made thousands of optimizations to
my tables. I then use phoenix bios editor, and then switched the old
tables with the new one. My system started back up nicely but I can't
say if I noticed a difference in performance or not... But in some
cases, this can even get you better performance from certain devices.

but at the bare minium, for snow leopard, you need a copy of DSDT.aml
patched with the CMOS fix (i dont think you could use other people's
dsdt unless its for ur laptop/mobo). Well, you don't 100% need it but
then again having CMOS being reset everytime on reboot isn't too
good...

Also if you forget to patch the DSDT with the CMOS fix, its not the
end of the world. The thing I mentioned about it corrupting something
in CMOS, this isnt permanent. You could continue to boot SL without
the fix, and then go back to windows, and all would be the same.

Enjoy this long guide :)
