uhh no your totaly wrong. Putting it on another hardrive on a different bus = awesome. Putting it on a seperate partition on the same drive = dumbest thing ever.
example: I upgraded my laptop with a 500 gig drive. When I installed 7 I made 2 partitions, one is 32ish gigs at the start of the disk and the other is whatever is left over. If I run ATTO on the 2 partitions the smaller partition is just about twice as fast (and it has my pagefile as per 7 defaults). This is because the first partition is located on the fastest part of the hard drive. If I moved it to the 2nd partition I would completely destroy any chance of even half way decent swapfile performance. Get your facts straight before you lead people who don't know any better and are trying to learn down the wrong path. (bonus round: what I did is called short stroking) On Feb 5, 3:22 pm, Snax <[email protected]> wrote: > Well, I guess I can't do the increase paging file x3 then ><; Rawr. > I'm on a laptop to begin with D: > > On Feb 5, 1:19 pm, hussam aulaian <[email protected]> wrote: > > > no man , putting it on another partition is the best choice > > cuz u keep of a big load on one partition > > -- INTEL 9xx SOLDIERS SANS FRONTIERS
