Hey Alucard, thanks for. Your concern, it was defiantly one hell of a storm
(CAT 3-4 after all) lol.

About the Laptop CPU's though, you will more often than not these days find
that all modern laptops can have their CPU changed, older laptops used to
have them soldered in but with newer laptops (2004+) its as easy as changing
a desktop cpu nearly :) however thay do use a specialised make and model of
CPU called the Mobile series witch sacrifices a little performance for
longer battery time and a cooler operating temperature.

THEFog,

It's good to hear that you are fine. We just had a Noreaster by us
with 75 MPH winds which was really fun. We lucked out and had no
damage, but I know how you can really get scared during those storms.
I have a feeling yours was a lot worse then mine though.

MAD_BEAST,

You do get taxed in NY. So you can't avoid the tax there from what I
understand.

Also, in one of your posts, you asked if you can change out the CPU.
The answer is no. In laptops the CPUs are soldered in, and cannot be
changed out, unlike a standard Desktop. I guess if you have amazing
skills you can unsolder. But then you have the problem with the FSB
and so on, and which chip will actually work with your Laptops Mobo.
