Many answers on that post were just reinforcing the lack of power/
features of intel igps. There are basic hardware functions that are
lacking on intel hardware, aside tnl and vertex processing :(
In properly set software, the game only crashes when lacking a
specific hardware function that may or may not have been publicly
documented as a true hardware requirement. When all hardware
conditions are met but the hardware is just not powerful enough, most
games do work just slower than playable, except extreme cases where
there are performance related CTDs.
