The original 64MB is dedicated vram soldered onto the GPU

The additional 192MB is System ram being shared with the gpu

Any RAM that is being dynamically added is from what I understand is a hard
drive page file being shared as dynamic swap memory for texture storage. I'm
pretty sure that's what windows is reporting.

This applies to my Radeon HD 3200, but may apply to the 950GMA and
other cards as well.

My card has 256MB of memory, but windows claims it to have 1.4GB of
memory.

Some games claim my card to have 256MB of texture memory (MW2 and GTA4
in particular), but I don't understand what the rest of that memory I
have does, or if its in use.

I noticed this on UT2K4 also on the 950GMA, where it would only claim
me to have 64MB of vram, whereas Windows reports about 256MB
available.

So what is the extra memory used for?
