Yes, chrome is slightly faster than firefox, and hugely disclosing every single thing you do on the internet. I'll go with firefox, thank you very much. And fyi, safari and opera aren't to be taken lightly, they are quite good on their own, or you forget that chrome uses the same engine as safari?
