That always causes a debate, but it is already proven by vendors and users everywhere. Both nvidia and ati have the same features, nvidia has more performance but is more expensive, and ati has less performance but is cheaper. Honestly, there is no comparison between a nvidia gpu and ati. Nvidia always proved to be very powerful is every scenario. It's up to you.
