I had problems with wifi on my old 950GMA laptop, I had the BCM4318 and I needed that B43 propertitary firmware from ubuntu, but it didn't work well (random dropouts, sometimes not seeing wifi), but when it did hold its connection, it was alright fast.
On my compaq 515, my wifi is some realtek card, my light on my laptop is blue like its enabled, but doesn't work until I compile and install realtek's drivers, and whats weird is it sometimes flashes from orange to blue really fast randomly (maybe dropout, idk) On Sun, Nov 28, 2010 at 9:07 PM, AngelicTears <[email protected]> wrote: > speaking of ubuntu, have u experience the wifi problem? cant connect to a > network? if u do, how to solve it? > > On Mon, Nov 29, 2010 at 5:39 AM, Espionage724 <[email protected]> > wrote: >> >> I only use x64 windows for it's UEFI support lol, other then that I >> default to x86, cept on ubuntu, I'll go x64 on that on any x64 CPU >> computer lol >> >> On Sat, Nov 27, 2010 at 4:23 PM, tribaljet <[email protected]> wrote: >> > Good luck. >> > >> > On 27 Nov, 11:05, CHAMPION <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> U Wont Believe Me If I Tell U This But just Believe Me Ok............ >> >> >> >> I Installed it On 25-11 at 5PM GMT+5.30 >> >> Now Is 27-11 5pm GMT+5.30 >> >> >> >> Usage For Past 2 Days >> >> >> >> Installed same software as before formatting 32 to 64... >> >> >> >> CPU usage of my computer from 32 bit to 64 bit has just increase by 1% >> >> only.... >> >> Ram usage as only increased by 50-100mb only.... >> >> And games also runs same way as before......... >> >> >> >> I don't see a huge difference in my memory consumption...... >> >> So I Am sticking To 64BIT Till I find A Major Reason/Defect On My >> >> System cos of 64Bit I Am Keeping It On.......... >> >> >> >> Hey people it is just my opinion don't get offended..... >> >> >> >> I just felt like sharing my experience With All.... >> >> >> >> And I Almost For To Say This That I Did Find A Minor Draw Back That >> >> Is...... >> >> >> >> My windows experience index Is same of all Component Except For Gaming >> >> Graphics Subscore Decrease To 3.2 Which Was 3.4 In 32BIT..... >> >> >> >> On Nov 27, 2:16 am, tribaljet <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> >> >> > So far, most apps will run slower, due to 32-bit apps running fast on >> >> > 32-bit environment, which 64-bit OSes are NOT.
