Lol, well, i may be at the same road with Haze/hussam...the only difference is im still on diploma...
every course u take and need to understand computer will have a basic programming that u have to master...either networking or programming, u still have to learn fundamental of programming..in my case, im a software engineer student, so obviously, after taking that fundamental subject, i have to took a more advance programming language (JAVA, C, C# and C++) for this semester (currently at semester 4) and im gonna be honest with u, it is hard if ure not ready to take on the stress...especially with program / application project that usually have a month or less deadline..plus u must make a presentation on that software explaining its benefits and stuffs.. just like Haze said, think, if ure up for that challenge, go for it, but be sure u have enough interest in it to guide and motivate u till graduation..as for the career, there are some time in the older times (year 1990 - 2000) where I.T students and programmers will certainly cant find a job because of its abundance...today however, programmers and systems admins are the top priority jobs in almost all third party and government job sector..so u will be comfortable in the future... as u said, i do think that ure a good students (with a lot of As) and if u have the will and interest. go for it..like Haze said, think carefully kid :P.. ive once make a mistake to take Diploma in automotive technology (my parents request)..i do have interest in that subject but i failed and drop out from that college (bad management, and the lecturer hates me)..so i wasted almost a year of my life studying what i dont really have interest me, talk about epic FAIL...now im happy to learn software engineering... and mind that i am excel at most of the computer science subject except programming which i kinda almost failed once :P... good luck kid and welcome to beginning of real life :P On Tue, Feb 1, 2011 at 5:01 AM, hussam aulaian <[email protected]> wrote: > well man as im a 4th year computer engineering student ,,, if u dont hav a > backround in programming it will take u sometime to get on the road of > programming > but that doesnt mean u shouldnt , but if u hav patients then go for it , > otherwise it will drive u crazy like its driving me nuts , here in Jordan , > part of the computer engineering degree > programming is a MUST , but i dont like it :) , i regret , and i wish i > went for computer networking , still my luck didnt end im interested in > hardware stuff like IC design ( integrated chip ) > and alot more ahead of me , but i hav to spend sometime to get some > experience on Linux , networking and hacking stuff to get my carrier > straight ... > and for CS , its an amazing course , and u will be amazed that next gen > computing depends alot on programming , esp with android and iphone going on > ... > > > so think 100 times before deciding.... > i hope this was helpfull > > -- > 9xx SOLDIERS SANS FRONTIERS > -- 9xx SOLDIERS SANS FRONTIERS
