some tricks for raising your graphics preformance...

Start -> Control Panel -> Apprearance & Personalization -> Personalization
-> Choose "Windows Classic Mode"

Start -> Control Panel -> System & Security -> Security -> Advanced System
Settings -> Advanced -> press "Performance" -> Settings -> Adjust for best
performance

This turns off WDDM and gives a bit of a boost. Might not be much, but it
does help with running severe games or other software. ;)
