for some reasons I don't know - the use of AddReg (software mode) can either activate Software TnL or Software Vertex Shader (or both of them, maybe). some example: Lineage II => adding AddReg will open the access to lighting's features, although they're broken because we forced it to run in software mode, so better leave them disabled Grand Fantasia, Kitsu Saga => both are created by same company. if we don't use AddReg, the "main.log" will show PS 2.0, VS 3.0 (but will feels like having VS 0.0). if we use AddReg, VS will show value 2.0 (and will feel like having VS 2.0, so it'll use VS properly, despite software mode).
so, in case of GPU-Z, it's probably showing 3.0 because it thinks that you're using a 965 chipset (while in reality, the VS version still capped at version 2.0 because what we actually use is a 945/3100) On Apr 16, 9:31 pm, MASTEROFNOCRACK <[email protected]> wrote: > thanks man for the info about sm3.0.this proves that the GMA 3100 is 1 > % faster than the GMA 950 and i can play any game played on the GMA > 950 like "CRYSIS". -- 9xx SOLDIERS SANS FRONTIERS
