I had no problem using my Lifechat LX-3000 on Linux. I wouldn't be
surprised right now if running Ubuntu and games would be faster than
Win7, just because I don't have any custom driver aside from Sigma 3.

Wine's gaming support is going to be slower, mostly. I'm curious as to
what apps you're having trouble with, however.
