My combination definitely works on sample app..

QtCreator 4.3.1, Qt 5.9.1, QtQuick 2 (msvc2017, windows 10x64).

Thank you for the hint with debugger log, will check it!

Generally, there's Windows->Views->Debugger Log, but there won't be
much in there if there's no connection.

You could perhaps mention the version of Creator, Qt, and Qt Quick
you are using. Not all combinations work.
