I'm not sure what version of PageNOW Server you have, but can you communicate with it using the SNPP protocol (Network paging)? This option is also built into 3.7.1.

Can't get IM to address the modem - I'm assuming because I have to lose the getty that currently answers the phone!
Can't get IM to talk to the PageNow Server because it only lists "Local" as an option!
