James:

You can customize the web server to serve map images without the links. To do this, change the following lines in the "Web Pages/PerMapHTML/map.html" file to remove the reference to the image map. The following four lines of the template file:

<MAP NAME="imap">
${include:/${httpdocument}/document/main/*imagemap.html}
</MAP>
<IMG SRC="/${httpdocument}/document/main/*map.${imagesuffix}" BORDER=0 USEMAP="#imap">

... would be changed to:

<IMG SRC="/${httpdocument}/document/main/*map.${imagesuffix}" BORDER=0>

It is also possible to link directory to the .png or .jpg map/chart images directly from another web page.

 Also, as a request, I would like to see a derivative of the MAP STATUS plugin, called DEVICE STATUS. If i have the same device on multiple maps (in our case our routers that link our infrastructure to our server racks, and the intermapper machine) it doesn't need to be checked periodically by multiple maps.
We are aware of this issue, and we plan to address it with a kind of "aliasing" mechanism like you have suggested.
