Hello! Thanks, Bill, for the workaround...I will try it.
I could see that a bogus IP address would not work for xnmap, since the port scan traffic has to come and go out an active interface. However, any traffic that listens for mirrored switch port traffic, such as SNORT or a sniffer program (tcpdump comes to mind) should work in this scenario, no? Thanks, Mark C.
