By default, the ants and utilization measure different things.

The visual ants will be triggered by the rate of packets going in and out of the interface. It only takes 10 pkts/second for the ants to appear. The utilization is computed using the total rate of bytes (not packets) relative to the speed of the interface. From looking at the status window for the interface in question, you should be able to determine if the utilization is being measured correctly. Please check the following:

- Incoming bytes/sec
- Outgoing bytes/sec
- Interface Speed
