None of those problems occurred here under Mac OS X 10.4.1. The few
problems I did have were just minor annoyances:
InterMapper Server 4.3 refused to run under my own username (fold). System
log shows lots of "launchd: com.dartware.InterMapperServer:
getgrnam("fold") failed". Creating "intermapper" user and installing from
command line got it running.
This sounds like a known bug in our installer for Mac OS X. This bug is fixed
in the latest version of the disk image -- quietly replaced on our download
site at 5:30 pm EDT yesterday.
The problem is that InterMapper sets the default group name to the same as a
user name. However, on Mac OSX 10.2.8 and probably versions upgraded from it,
a user's default group is "staff".
Can you please confirm this by typing 'id -G -n' at the Terminal?
Yes, the "fold" user goes back to OS X 10.0 days is in the "staff" group.
More recently added users (including the new "intermapper" user) are in
their own groups.
