Hi All,

This has been up several times, and is logged with Dartware as a feature request. Last time we talked about it, the responce was that they were still looking into how it should be implemented.

So, I guess Janice will add your vote to the standing request, and feel free to voice your ideas about implementation - should you have some.

Agreed. I also run several probes against the same hosts, ie SMTP, Host
Resources, NT Services, as well as server hardware or application
specific custom probe for a single host. If you could combine probes I
think that would be very helpful. I monitor lots of windows and linux
servers on dell, hp and ibm hardware. I seem to use at least twice the
number of device licenses as I actually have devices ;)

Subject: [IM-Talk] Multiple Probes

Sort of in line with my last post about being able to configure Device
status, I was wondering if many of you use more than one probe on
certain
devices.

I routinely use the simple SNMP probe on Windows servers, also the Host
Resources Probe and I have just started using the NT Service probe.

All of these probes display the same basic info at the top of the status
display.

Again, trying to increase configuration options - it would be great to
somehow combine the probes so that the basic info is not repeated.

Or to be able to turn off the "basic" info on a built-in probe.

Kevin
