Thank you for your comments on redundancy and admin permissions.
We'll definitely take your thoughts into consideration as we move
forward.
Does anyone else have any thoughts along these lines?
Apologies for the me too - but we have a similar requirement.
We have two machine rooms - with a intermapper server running in
each. We notionally think of one intermapper server/machine room as
'the primary' - & all changes are made to that server. We'd like a
way of syncing maps & preferences/settings across to the 'the
secondary' & getting the secondary to use them. Ideally, we'd also
like to be able to have notifications turned off by default on the
secondary - but to be able to quickly turn them on (with one click !)
- should the secondary ever become the main intermapper server.
By running with a live secondary rather than standby - we
a) know it is working (or not)
b) discover where people have put ACLs on monitored devices thus
restricting probing ...;-o
Re - delegation of admin control - that too would fit nicely with our
working philosophy here.
Also regarding ease of management/setup - when defining an auto
login for a user we can only use a single IP address or wild card
www.xxx.yyy.* format. Could a use a subnet mask notation be used to
denote a range of addresses for which we'd like auto login ..?
