This is precisely the arrangement we are currently in the process of
implementing, and we too are finding Intermapper to have some
shortcomings in this area.  So I suppose I am adding another "me too"
vote.  One thing I would add is that we are also interested in seeing
the different "view" of our network from the secondary data center.  So
while the secondary Intermapper server may not be actively issuing
alerts, we still treat it as a production-level system and service, so
that our networking people may use it as a source of additional
information in the event of problems.  It would be nice if the two
Intermapper servers had a way of communicating with each other and
indicating when they disagree regarding the status of a particular device.

I believe I have previously suggested, as a future enhancement request,
that they furthermore have a way of monitoring each others' heartbeat
and automatically taking over notification duties, according to
configurable options.  If I am recalling incorrectly, please consider
this to be such a request (and another "me too" vote to Kevin's similar
suggestion).
