Thanks for the update Rich! It's great to see what's coming...
A couple items I noticed missing from your list that seem to come up a lot.
- Being able to ACK devices from the web interface
- The ability to expire chart data.
Any chance we'll see these soon?
Also I have a few comments below.
- The ability to display switches more accurately. InterMapper will be
able to
find which device is attached to which port, automatically connect devices to
the proper port, etc.
Can this please also include the ability to not alarm over certain
"non-critical" switchports being down? We often have sites where we'd
like to leave a port on the map so we can see it's state - but we don't
really care if it's down.
Sort of like the ignore outages feature that was added - but on a
port-by-port basis.
- Responsibilities. You can view and set the notifiers for a particular
person
easily. This is a highly-prized capability of the Traditional version is now
available for all platforms.
It's nice to have this, but the whole notifiers paradigm is still
backwards in my opinion. Right now you attach a notifier to a device,
and then set a bunch of parameters on that device for how the notifier
behaves.
This is problematic when you need to change those parameters on numerous
devices, across multiple maps.
It would be much better if all of the settings were on the notifier. And
you just attached devices to the notifier. So making a change in the
delay or repeat settings would affect all devices using that notifier.
Or, for a lot more flexibility, if you could put devices in groups and
then attach notifiers to the group in the same fashion that you
currently attach a notifier to a device. This would allow you to create
groups like 'UPS' or 'Access Switches' and then assign notifiers, and
make changes to those notifiers - without having to hand-select all
those devices across multiple maps.
Thanks again for the update - and for all your hard work.
