with Debian and a few other OSes running as VMware clients. On
Debian, we were losing 20 minutes every hour. Some clients are
running Intermapper, some not. Some OSes don't seem to have any
timing trouble as clients. I ended up putting ntpdate in an hourly
cron job for the problem clients to make sure that events such as
builds happened at roughly the right time.
FWIW, I think every client for which we have this problem is being
hosted by VMware Server (one on 64-bit Windows Server 2003, one on
OpenSuSE 10.1), whereas those being hosted by VMware Workstation (one
on 32-bit Windows Server 2003, one on FC3) do not exhibit this
problem.
