This is what TCP probes are for. See the the Developer's Guide and
the Barracuda, Xserve, and OS X Server probes for examples.

I'd like:
A syntax checker (and colorer!) for the TCP probe language.
The ability to change SysName, SysLocation, etc. from TCP probes.
Support for other scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby, or
something).
