Just to chime in a little here, I had asked for this feature (single polling of the same device if it appears on multiple maps) about a year or two ago.
The reason was because although we have seperate maps for each building, we have two main maps (one for academic devices, the other for dorm devices). These are the only two maps we have notification on, as they contain ALL the devices. In our environment, there are two people who maintain the 300+ devices, so theres no need to split notifications to different people, which makes it easy for us. But for the rest of you, you may consider the same option of making "notifier" maps, and disable the showing of all the ports (for switches), so you see just the device (usually displayed in table form, as opposed to the map view). Now that the same device is only probed once, (and hopefully only considered as one device in terms of licensing), this is possible without wasting device licenses. Especially for those people with low device count licenses. Just another option, in case people havnt thought of it... - - - Jon Myers Network Manager Alfred State College
