-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We have handled this type of situation by using NRPE. This gives you the ability to run arbitrary commands on the remote system and pass the results back to InterMapper, but with the added security of having control over exactly which commands can be run and with which parameters. You also do not have to deal with ssh keys, which alleviates both a hassle and a security concern. From InterMapper, you can use the "Nagios Template" probe to call check_nrpe and point it at the system you wish to monitor.
NRPE is available from http://www.nagios.org/download/ . Feel free to let me know if you need any help in setting it up.
