Right now, I'm using the "attach to" feature to connect multiple probes (NT Services, SNMP Host Resources, SMTP) to the snmp traffic probe for a device. I would think that this would keep notifications from being triggered from all the devices "behind" the snmp traffic probe in relation to the vantage point. Does that sound right? Is this the right way to do multiple probes (using "attach to")?
I tried testing it by disabling the SNMP service on the server, but InterMapper's resiliency (try ping if SNMP fails) keeps the device "up" but in a warn state, so the SNMP Host Resources probe was also in a warn. I could test with another device that I can actually disable but thought to ask here first.
