I'd second the database probes (one for Postgres would be nice too :-)
I'm currently just doing basic TCP checks on most of my servers, which
catches most problems but isn't quite as good as an actual query/
response.
Re: the forum, http://forums.dartware.com/viewforum.php?f=5 is
probably what you're looking for (with the mail2forum gateway working
again you should be able to post from the list or the forum and have
your messages show up in both spots -- I couldn't remember my forum
username if my life depended on it though, so no test :)
