Greetings- Tried to fire up 5.3.b3 today but ran into difficulties:
1) First the installs would not run. When I clicked on the install icon I kept getting the error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item. Seemingly a simple permissions issue, except that I am running as an administrator and have all permissions down through the folder chain including read and execute on the file. I can copy the file within the folder. Most weirdly I can execure the installer from a command prompt without issue. 2) InterMapper installs without issue, well kind of -- at least no error messages until I try to fire it up. It churns for a bit and then spits out the error message: "Failed to start service (current state:1, exit code: 0): Error 0". Startup was through the InterMapper Control Center. The environment is a Windows Server 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition running as a virtual machine on Xenon hardware with 0.75G of main memory and between 1.0 and 2.0 G of swap space. Nothing untoward in the event logs. IM previous ran on this box without issue prior to the upgrade. -Dave Cooley Colby College ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: intermapper-talk-...@list.dartware.com
