I've been asking for this for like two years now. I have not found a way to do
that. The only suggestion is to stop periodic repoll, but that's not the same.
So as far as I know, there isn't. I brought it up the first time when I had
Cat4507 populated with 48 port line cards. Every time you insert one, 48
interfaces show up on them map and mess it up.
Now imagine inserting a switch full. 250 interfaces that you don't care about
get put on the map for your convenience.

Subject: [IM-Talk] Automatic Interface Mapping

Is there a way to keep devices from adding new interfaces to the map
automatically?

Whenever we add a new VLAN to a switch, we have to go hide it from every map
since it automatically pops up on each map the device is in.
