I started to respond similar to Andrey's comments but got diverted. It seems to me that one needs to add a behavior option that will cause newly discovered/uncovered interfaces to be displayed or be hidden. This would determine how the the checkbox in the interface window gets set by default on discovery.
Also while you are working in this area, add a switch to the interface window as to whether port state changes should generate alerts, etc and add the corresponding item to the behavior options. I don't give a hoot about port state changes for ports that we consider dynamic. FWIW: IM's general lack of support for the special operational considerations of big "terminal" switches is a real problem for us. I have been giving this issue some thought but don't have enough of a visision of coherent understanding to off much at this time. -Dave Cooley Colby College On Thu, Sep 9, 2010 at 2:20 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: > I've been asking for this for like two years now.
