Greetings,

I've just started toying around with the probe creator Rich posted yesterday,
but it occurs to me that the biggest hurdles in monitoring optical gear is:

1) Optical interfaces may have protection; so, display of the optical
interfaces on a map is a little different. There may be two discrete
presentations of the interface / circuit (working path, and protect path).
2) Optical interfaces are not necessarily recorded within the ifTable (indeed,
Ciena 4200 gear records them within the gslamAGPortTable), and so the default
manner of Intermapper discovering and showing interfaces within the ifTable is
insufficient to graphically represent optical interfaces).

For any Dartware folks reading: any chance the interface presentation bits
within Intermapper might get some abstraction, such that custom probes can
represent links not present within the ifTable?

Regards,

  Phil
