Hi SamE: What version and platform are you running the InterMapper server on? If it is not on Windows or Mac, did you also download and install the InterMapper Data-Center (IMDC)? IMDC comes bundled with the windows and Mac installers, but it an additional install on other platforms.
I am running IM and IMDC on RedHat Linux, and I suspect that the Set Kind option is part of IMDC. Hope this helps Randy Baker -----Original Message----- From: [mailto:] On Behalf Of SamE Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2012 12:27 PM To: ; Subject: [IM-Talk] Re: More complex device monitoring Randy Baker wrote: > You can do what you are asking quite easily on InterMapper. > > To specify a role on a device, right click on the device, select Set Info, > and then from the Set Device Kind pull down, select your device type. > > To probe for specific ports/applications, right click on the device and set a > probe. All I see under 'Set Info' is 'Set Address, Behavior, Comment, Community, Latitude & Longitude, Poll Interval, Thresholds, Timeout'. Under 'Set Behavior' there is a drop down 'Map device as:' but the only options are Router, Switch, Hub, and End System. Can you not set it for a DC or DNS server?[/img] -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.intermapper.com/viewtopic.php?p=4044#4044 ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to:
