Mine still isn't fixed. Apparently the layer 2 discovery process creates a file on Intermapper that the splunk app turns around and reads through http to generate the map. On my Intermapper server the layer 2 discovery never completes. It hangs at random times and for no apparent reason. I have a ticket open with them from back before Christmas and it remains unresolved at this point.
One thing that wasn't very clear to me in the documentation is that the splunk app adds a probe (called layer 2) to the splunk server. You have to get that probe and import it into Intermapper and then create a device that uses that probe. It doesn't matter what device, but enabling that probe will allow the Intermapper server to perform the layer 2 discovery. You will also have to tell Intermapper which maps you want it to perform layer 2 discovery on and disable autoupdating the map if you have your maps laid out in a specific way. If you don't disable autoupdating up the map, it will make a mess of your work. :) I'm sure YMMV - this is all from my point of view. -Christopher On 2/14/13 12:55 PM, "yozh" <im-talk-...@dartware.com> wrote: > >How did you fix the issue ?
