Maybe at that time the best thing for the language was not to introduce it. The maintenance cost of a feature and the benefit it brings are also things subject to change in such a long timeline. Maybe the current technical debt or the current suite of tests make this feature less of a burden than it used to be or maybe our understanding of the value of such a feature has changed in the course of 9 years. -- Marco Deleu
