Just because SOME people like CLI does not give them the right to force it upon the rest of the world. Most users are much happier with a GUI than CLI, so not providing a "modern" interface is showing disrespect to those users. Again nobody is trying to kill pear nor its web frontend. This rfc is about not bundling it anymore in the source release. The web front-end was never bundled anyway so it is not the topic.
