The BBC has been wracked by scandal this past month amidst multiple issues
in reporting sexual abuse -- about a deceased employee who was host of its
domestic flagship program "Newsnight", as well as botched reporting that
wrongly implicated a prominent Conservative politician.

Meanwhile, the recently-appointed head of the BBC has come across as an
inconsequential buffoon in statements regarding his oversight of the BBC.

Said head resigned the other day...and now there are calls for a thorough
top-to-bottom investigation of the broadcaster and the of the BBC Trust
responsible for its oversight.

This will likely spill over into the World Service, given recent moves to
more closely align the World Service with the BBC's domestic services.

While Google News can lead to a pile of stories on the matter, this
AP-authored story at Time Magazine gives a good overview of the situation.
