Postgraduate funding in Politics and International Relations

The School of Politics & International Relations at the
University of Nottingham is very proud to announce that it
has the following awards for postgraduate students
registering in the 2006/07 academic year:

- Six Ph.D. fee waiver awards for students classified as
home/EU for fee purposes. These awards cover the tuition
fees for the full three years of a Ph.D. degree and are open
to students who register for a Ph.D. in September 2006. Two
awards will be made in Politics and International Relations
generally, two awards are reserved for projects with a
strong methodological component and two awards will be made
for projects in the area of social and global justice.

In order to qualify, candidates must either have already
completed an ESRC recognised MA (Research Track) and gained
a merit mark or higher (overall average of 60 or above) or
be currently registered for an MA (Research Track) with an
expected result of a merit mark or higher.

- Four MA (Research Track) fee waiver awards for students
classified as home/EU for fee purposes. In order to qualify,
students must have completed or be about to complete a BA
degree with a 2.1 result or higher and apply for one of the
School's MAs (Research Track) to start in September 2006. We
offer the following ESRC-recognised MA programmes: MA in
International Relations (Research Track) and MA in Politics
(Research Track).

possible. Information and assistance on the applications in
general and the drafting of the project proposal in
particular will be provided. Applications to this
competition will be judged by a School of Politics &
International Relations Committee on the basis of academic
merit. The decision of the School's Committee on the
allocation of fee waiver awards is final.

The deadline for applications is 10 March 2006.
